Use THIS launch’s values, not the ones in the screenshots. These screenshots were taken on an earlier group, so the group name, member tag, and dates you see in them are only examples. Always use the group name, member tag, and dates from this launch’s setup sheet (the “Set Up a New Group” panel on the team hub). Every button and click below is identical every time; only those few values change.
Why we do this. When you approve someone into the Facebook group, Group Leads
captures their name and email into our sheet and sends them into the CRM automatically.
That name and email is the whole point. Without this connected, people join and we never
learn who they are.
How approving people works: you approve or decline members from Facebook itself.
To do it, you have to be on the group's Facebook page, in this browser, with Group Leads
running. If you are not on the group page, Group Leads cannot capture anyone or send the
welcome. So do your approvals while you are sitting on the group in Chrome.
If that page does not open, search the Chrome Web Store for Group Leads.
When it asks for a license key on first use, enter OO60GTCH34JQ4574 to activate it.
Open the Facebook group, then click the Group Leads icon
Go to the Facebook group the workshop group you are setting up
and stay on that page. You have to be on the group page for it to connect.
Click the Group Leads icon in the Chrome toolbar (top right). The group should already
be listed. If it is not, click + Add Group.
The Group Leads panel. Our group shows under "Groups."
On the Setup tab, connect the Google Sheet
Paste the Google Sheet URL (from the box above) into the field, click
Verify, then click Update. This is the sheet that collects every member's
name and email.
Setup tab. Paste the sheet link, Verify, then Update.
Open the Autoresponder tab and choose GoHighLevel
Click the Autoresponder tab. Turn Enable Autoresponder on. In the dropdown
choose Gohighlevel v2, then click Credentials.
Autoresponder tab. Pick "Gohighlevel v2," then click Credentials.
Enter the three GHL fields — read the warning first
The Credentials popup has three fields: API key, Exact Tag Name, and
Exact Location Id.
The three fields. Fill all three, then click Update, without leaving this popup.
⚠ Do this part carefully — the fields erase themselves
If you leave this popup to go copy another value, all three fields wipe clean.
So do it in this exact order, without clicking away:
API key: paste the long pit- key you were given separately. This one pastes fine.
Exact Tag Name:type it by hand —
the exact tag for this launch (on the setup sheet, in the pattern mg-<location>-<month><day>). Copy-paste will not stick here.
Exact Location Id:type it by hand —
3cfsXrDQ5Hv3Wg6Z0kBz. Copy-paste will not stick here.
Double-check the two you typed, character for character, then click
Update. One wrong character and the leads will not reach the CRM.
Turn on Welcome Messaging and save
Back on the Autoresponder tab, make sure Enable Autoresponder and
Enable Welcome Messaging are both on, then click the blue UPDATE button.
Both toggles on, then click UPDATE to save.
The welcome message each new member gets (paste this into the Welcome Message field):
Hey [first_name] [last_name],
Welcome in, glad to have you.
Two quick things to get started:
1. Read the pinned post at the top of the group. It lays out the schedule and how the next few days run.
2. Introduce yourself in the comments below. Where are you from, how long have you been in the business, and what kind of work do you do?
We read every one. It's the fastest way to get to know the room.
Leave the [first_name] [last_name] tags exactly as they are — Group Leads fills in each member's real name.
Approving people (the daily job)
Approvals close after Day 3. Let people in through the last night of the warm-up, the day before the first training video. Once the first training day starts the gate closes, so anyone still waiting after that does not get in. The exact dates are on this launch’s setup sheet.
✅ How you know it is working: once Group Leads is installed and you are on the
group, Facebook's Approve button turns red. Red Approve
buttons mean the plugin is running. If they look normal, the plugin is not active on that page
— reload the group and check the icon.
You have three ways to let people in. All three capture the name and email and send the
welcome. Pick whichever fits how many are waiting:
Approve everyone at once. Click Custom Approve All And Send Message
at the top. This admits every waiting applicant and sends them the welcome message in one click.
Fastest when a batch has stacked up.
Approve a chosen few. Tick the checkbox next to the people you want, then click
Approve selected on the right. Use this when you only want some of
them in.
Approve one at a time. On each person, click Approve and send message.
Use this when you want to look at each applicant before letting them in.
All three red buttons on the Member Requests screen: Custom Approve All And Send Message
(top), Approve selected (right), and Approve and send message (on each person).
Every new member gets two touches, both automatic:
A Facebook Messenger message — the welcome message from step 6, sent through
Messenger the moment you approve them.
A welcome email — sent from the CRM on its own, as soon as their name and email
land there from the approval. You do not send this by hand.
✓ How to know it worked
Approve one person into the group. Within a minute their
name and email should appear as a new row in the Google Sheet, and a new contact
with this launch’s tag should show up in the CRM. If both happen, you are
done. If the sheet stays empty, re-open the Credentials popup and re-check the Tag and
Location Id you typed by hand.
